Presidential candidate Hrant Bagratyan has issued a congratulatory message on Army Day.
"Our Army is already 21 years old. This is a great event for all of us. In 1993, the newly independent Armenia began to build its army and, today, twenty years later, we have an army that ensures the security of our country and protection of our borders. In recent years, our army has solved numerous issues specific to a newly created country. However, there are still issues of concern before the upcoming presidential election. Among other issues, I have also referred to the army matters in my program and I hope that compulsory paid military service will promote improvement and strengthening of our army. I again congratulate us on the great holiday, bow to the victims of the Artsakh war and our veterans or their service to the country," Mr Bagratyan said in the message.
