Gurgen Yeghiazaryan, a member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK), says he would prefer incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan to Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian as a presidential candidate.

"In case of Serzh Sargsyan, you know, at least, what to expect, you do not anticipate all sorts of surprises," he said.

He reminds that after the March 2008 deadly clashes Raffi Hovannisian went to a reception at the presidential residence and raised a toast to Sargsyan's victory.
With regard to Hovannisian's address to Sargyan in which the Heritage leader urges the incumbent to apologize to the Armenian people, Gurgen Yeghiazaryan said, "He was probably called and ordered to be more active during the campaign."
