Observers: Presidential campaign is held on equal footing

During their stay in Yerevan, the IPA CIS Observation Group members came to the conclusion that the presidential campaign is held on equal footing, without major violations.

"Campaign headquarters of presidential candidates also said that everything corresponds to the legislation, Alexander Stoyanoglu, Coordinator of the IPA CIS Long-Term Observation Group, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of the Republic of Moldova on National Security, Defense and Public Order, said at the Central Election Commission of Armenia during a meeting with local journalists.

Speaking about presidential candidate Andrias Ghukasyan's decision to go on an open-ended hunger amid the presidential campaign, Mr Stoyanoglu said they are not going to assess the steps of any of the candidates; the move should be assessed by the relevant bodies of the country [Armenia].
At least 30 representatives from the CIS member countries will observe the February 18 presidential election in Armenia.
