Presidential candidate Andrias Ghukasyan, who started his campaign with an open-ended hunger strike, spent the night outside the National Academy of Sciencies in Yerevan.

The candidate assures everyone that he feels good though he has not eaten anything since Monday.

The candidate is not going to give interviews as he wants to save his energy for the future.

Ghukasyan's friend Harutyun Karapetyan visited him in the morning. The researcher believes that the ‘presidential candidate has chosen the right way to achieve victory.' At the same time, Karapetyan does not rule out the probability to join his friend in the near future. While Karapetyan says Ghukasyan is damaging his health by the move, he sees no other option to achieve success.

Andrias Ghukasyan decided to resort to a hunger strike after the Central Election Commission refused his demand to annul the registration of [incumbent president] Serzh Sargsyan as a candidate in the February 18 election. The candidate also calls for suspending the OSCE/ODIHR election observation mission in Armenia. He will not stop the protest unless his demands are met.
