BHK against 2013 budget

The Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) is going to vote against the government's 2013 draft budget, BHK MP Mikael Melkumyan said on Monday.

"We believe that it will be very difficult to execute the budget with the current proportions between revenues and expenditures. We strongly doubt the government's forecasting abilities," said the vice-chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.

"In June 2012 the government predicted 3.8 percent economic growth while today, four months later, the government submits another project envisaging 6,2% growth," said the BHK MP.

Mikael Melkuyan cannot understand what changes took place in the international economy in the last 3-4 months that made the Armenian government change its economic forecasts in a matter of few months.

"We had better wait another four months to hear new predictions," the BHK MP said underlining that his party is for expansive and stimulating policy.
