General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia says an Armenian aircraft is undergoing checks in Ezurum under previously reached agreement with the Turkish side.

Turkish authorities are presently searching an aircraft traveling from Armenia to Syria after it landed in the eastern city of Erzurum earlier on Monday. This follows an earlier arrangement between the Turkish aviation authorities and AIR Armenia Company, according to which Turkey demanded that the company's planes flying through Turkish airspace land in Erzurum to undergo routine checks, reports the press service of the Armenian Civil Aviation.

So the ongoing checks follow the agreement reached between the sides last week. There are eight crew members and cargo attendant on board the plane.
