The opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) is still undecided whether or not to nominate candidates in constituencies N1 and 35 for the local elections slated for December 2.

The political council of the opposition alliance convened a sitting on Thursday evening to discuss the issue. Discussions are still ongoing, Arman Musinyan, a spokesman for the HAK Leader and country's first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, said on Friday.

"As soon as we make a decision, we shall inform you," said the HAK representative.

Two candidates - Stepan Safaryan (Heritage party) and Robert Sargsyan (Republican Party of Armenia) - have submitted applications to run for parliament in constituency N1. No one has been nominated in constituency N35 as of Friday, Oct. 12.

Applications must be submitted till Oct. 18.
