Vartan Oskanian, Armenia's former foreign minister and an MP of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), has been invited to the National Security Service, where he will be charged with embezzlement and money laundering.
Mr. Oskanian is to show up at the NSS at 12.00, Oct. 8.
"Neither people nor those who have filed the charges believe that Oskanian has embezzled money. The masterminds, the investigators and those, who approved the prosecutor's motion to involve me in the criminal case on money laundering charges, are of the same opinion. Everyone believes that this is a farce. I am going to the National security Service as law demands it, but I shall use my constitutional right and will not give testimonies. I want to thank all those who believe and support me," Vartan Oskanian said in a statement issued earlier in the day.
