Oskanian on NA decision

The statement of BHK deputy Vartan Oskanian:

"The parliament has stripped me of parliamentary immunity today. Almost at the same time we were informed that in neighboring Georgia, President Mikheil Saakashvili admitted the defeat of his party in the parliamentary elections held yesterday.

In fact, there is already a political counterbalance in Georgia: the president is from one party, while the legislative body and the government will soon be from another. So Georgia is now ahead of us by another ten steps.

In the last parliamentary elections we had the opportunity to take the lead in this issue. All of you remember my and BHK political struggle's ideological base, which aimed at creating such a counterbalance. Given the people's mood in that period, such a result was inevitable. However, nothing came out of it because the leaders of the ruling party lacked foresight to put the interests of the state and people above their own party-related, clannish, and personal interests.

The elections were rigged, and today we have what we have. If there were the mentioned counterbalance, there would not be such injustice in the parliament today. The injustice was committed not against me. It was committed against our people, ordinary citizens, the younger generation, and the fate of our country".
