European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule will sign today two financial agreements between the European Union and Armenia.
Under these financial agreements, the EU will assist the negotiations and the implementation of the following bilateral agreements between the EU and Armenia: an Association Agreement, including a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, and Visa Facilitation/Readmission Agreements.
The financing also envisages providing budgetary assistance to the Armenian government to implement measures under the Action Plan of the European Neighborhood Policy in order to help solve numerous problems related to public administration reforms and trade facilitation.
Commissioner Fule and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan will participate in the signing ceremony. During his visit to Armenia on September 27-28, the Commissioner will meet with high-ranking Armenian officials, representatives of various political parties and civil society.
