“Fule … looked at us in amazement”

Prior to his meeting with the Armenian prime minister today, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule talked with demonstrators who gathered outside the government building. He asked the mothers of the soldiers who died in the army in peacetime what they were displeased with.

"We said that our soldiers die in the army in peaceful conditions. He asked us whether they died in Karabakh. I said "not only in Karabakh, our children died in the army at the hands of their own commanders... He looked at us in amazement," said Nana Muradyan, a protester.
