A march was held in Stepanakert, the capital of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, in commemoration of Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan who was killed with an axe by Azeri soldier Ramil Safarov during a Budapest-hosted NATO training event.
Gurgen Margaryan would be 34 today, if not the Budapest tragedy of 19 February, 2004.
The march was organized by "Kamk" NGO, "Artsakhakertum" initiative and a number of youth and student organizations. About 3000 participants of the event marched from St Hakob church to the fraternal grave of the city where they laid flowers at the memorial.
