A petition to dismiss NA deputy Ruben Hayrapetyan from the office of President of the Football Federation of Armenia has been launched at www.change.org. The initiators have stated the following in their letter addressed to the UEFA and FIFA administrations:
"On 17 June 2012, an incident took place at Harsnakar Restaurant Complex, which belongs to oligarch, Deputy Ruben Hayrapetyan, who is also President of the Football Federation of Armenia. Several military doctors were brutally beaten by the bodyguards at the restaurant complex and Ruben Hayrapetyan's personal bodyguards, and as a result, father of two, 33-year old military doctor Vahe Avetyan died at the hospital on June 29.
During his press conferences last year, Ruben Hayrapetyan had shown disrespect toward journalists and had declared that he didn't abide by the law and accepted the fact that he beats and threatens people.
Ruben Hayrapetyan denies his responsibility for the death of Vahe Avetyan. Ruben Hayrapetyan is not the person who should hold the office of President of the Football Federation of Armenia, a sport that unites people. Ruben Hayrapetyan must quickly resign.
Dear leaders of UEFA and FIFA, we ask you to raise your voices to dismiss this person from the office of President of the Football Federation of Armenia."
More than 1,000 have joined this petition, but at least 4,000 signatures are required.
