The law-enforcement authorities are trying to do everything they can to cast a shade on the good reputation that ex-foreign minister, deputy of the Prosperous Armenia Party Vardan Oskanyan has. This is what the party's newly appointed speaker Tigran Urikhanyan has to say about the criminal case instigated against Oskanyan's Civilitas Foundation.

"If it's a matter of finance, why didn't the corresponding bodies get involved? Why was a criminal case instigated right away?" Urikhanyan asked "A1+".

The National Security Service has called Vardan Oskanyan to interrogations several times to clarify the case brought up on the ground of money laundering. Both Oskanyan and Urikhanyan say there is a political subtext.

"In the case of illegitimate actions of the law-enforcement authorities, we will immediately draw up a conclusion, issue a statement and take adequate steps," said Urikhanyan.
