What impact did the Russian opposition's demonstrations have on Russia? Can they change the political field?
"Those actions have already led to the solution of several important issues. First, a new demographic group emerged with a different name. Some call it the "creative layer", some, who are frustrated citizens, and us (mn.ru-ed.) call it "new intellectuals". Those people came, looked at each other and realized that they do exist. They are many in number and are capable of having an impact on the processes taking place.
After those massive protests began, the laws included a certain extent of liberalization in relation to political processes. The government reinstated the election of governors, changed the rules for parties' registration and more," says editor-in-chief of the Russian mn.ru (Московские новости) website Alexander Bogomolov.
