The governor of Gegharkunik marz (province), Nver Poghosyan, has submitted a resignation to Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. In the letter, the governor thanked the Armenian PM for the joint work.
Nver Poghosyan was appointed to the post in 2007. He is a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK).
Another BHK member, governor of Vayots Dzor marz, Sergey Bagratyan is likely to follow suit on Monday.
Talking to our reporter, Bagratyan confirmed the news at the same time dismissing the allegations that he is a supporter of Serzh Sargsyan.
According to the BHK member, BHK Leader Gagik Tsarukyan has instructed them to strengthen the party's local structures and to prepare for the upcoming local self-government and president elections.
