The Political Council of the Republic (Hanrapetutyun) Party has issued a statement, elaborating on its decision to leave the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK).
"Hanrapetutyun is ready to cooperate with public and political forces who seek to carry out systematic changes in the country based on stable system of values and democratic standards, who consider the overthrow of the regime and establishment of democracy their primary task.
"While we share the call of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) for systematic changes in the solution of foreign and domestic problems, we have some tactical and strategic differences with the Congress, which unfortunately, are gradually deepening.
"After long-run and thorough discussions with regional structures, the political council unanimously decided to terminate the party's membership with the opposition alliance.
"We express our appreciation to the HAK of the road for the cooperation and wish them success in their programs," reads the party's statement.
