“HHK used Armenia’s resource”

The Central Electoral Commission has denied the Armenian National Congress's (HAK) appeal without any explanation, according to HAK member, lawyer Vahe Grigoryan. The HAK demands declaring the results of the May 6 election invalid.

Vahe Grigoryan claims that the leader of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and other officials campaigned while holding office.

"Some of them even went against other political parties and candidates, and that simply contradicts the Constitution," said the lawyer, registering that the elections breached the right to free election and equal conditions. "Entering the campaign with other political parties and candidates, the HHK also used Armenia's resource, that is, it used the state resource to hold its election campaign."

Vahe Grigoryan underlined that the HAK is preparing to appeal to the Constitutional Court with the same demand in the next couple of days.
