People can lose their jobs simply for greeting me or standing close to me, said David Matevosyan, an opposition candidate running for parliament in single-mandate constituency N 37.
"I have never seen similar total pressure. They [authorities] are trying to intimidate people but people are not afraid, rather, they are wary. They are a burden and we need to get rid of that burden," Matevosyan said in the city of Meghri during a campaign meeting of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK).
The deputy candidate has requested the Central Election Commission to have Republican Party's posters removed from catering facilities in Agarak - a city in Syunik province.
"The posters are to be taken away within three days, otherwise the CEC should go to court to revoke Republican Party's participation in the May 6 vote," Matevosyan said reminding voters that they cannot be pressurized in voting booths.
