Local government elections in 46 communities in Armenia on Sunday were held without major violations - a fact noted by media, Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Galust Sahakyan said on Monday.
Dwelling on the mayoral elections in Hrazdan city, the HHK vice-chairman said ‘they did not have the effect of a volcano.'
"It is typical of the Armenian mentality to blame the opposite side. The one who loses always accuses the appositive side of frauds and cannot reconcile himself to his defeat," he said offering to consider opposition's complaints in the context of the Armenian mentality.
Speaking about the videos on election bribes, Mr Sahakyan said they are only provocation.
"Perhaps someone distributed bribes to smear the elections, but on the whole, I would like to say that the elections in Hrazdan were free and fair."
HHK candidate, incumbent mayor of Hrazdan Aram Danielyan won the mayoral race on February 12, receiving 13 079 votes. His rival from the Armenian National Congress Sasun Mikayelyan gained 11 506 votes.
