Lawmakers leave NA sitting hall

The National Assembly today discussed the draft laws on making amendments and addenda to the Laws on Public Service and Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly.

The Heritage faction MPs emphasized the ethical side of the laws, stressing that ‘if the 131 lawmakers are unable to maintain moral and ethical norms, the country should have as many deputies as are needed to follow these rules.'
"In this respect, we highlight the switch to a 100-perecent proportional electoral system," said Heritage MP Larisa Alaverdyan.

Republican MP Davit Harutyunyan advised replacing ‘moral statements' by political ones, since ‘counting deputies is not included in Ethics.' [He addressed his words to the Heritage MP Anahit Bakhshyan who used to count the MPs attending NA sessions]

After yesterday's boycott, the lawmakers of the coalition Prosperous Armenia party today returned to parliament. However, the scenario repeated today as most lawmakers left the sitting hall when Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan was going to present the draft law on the legal regime of the state of emergency.
