In the clarifications regarding journalist Hayk Gevorgyan's arrest, the police mentioned that he had been under persecution since January 23.

"A1+" asked Head of the Public Relations Department of the RA Police Ashot Aharonyan if it wasn't possible to identify him in 10 days, to which the police said it wasn't possible.

When "A1+" told the police that Hayk's colleagues had assured that Hayk had gone to work every day in this period and had participated in all press conferences at the government and the ministries, Aharonyan asked whether his neighbors had been asked or not.

According to Aharonyan, police officers had visited his home and hadn't found him there.

According to the police officer, during the preparation of the materials, it became clear that the car that supposedly ran over someone was registered under the name of Nikol Pashinyan's wife, Anna Hakobyan. "A1+" asked Ashot Aharonyan whether it was possible to check Hayk Gevorgyan's location from the editorial office of "Haykakan Zhamanak".

According to Aharonyan, it would be easier to reveal Hayk's identity, if the license plate showed that the car belonged to an institution. In addition, there are many people with the same last name.

We remind that this morning, well-known journalist, correspondent for the issuing of "Haykakan Zhamanak" newspaper Hayk Gevorgyan was surrounded by persons dressed in civil uniforms while entering the workplace and was taken away in an unknown direction. Then, it turned out that he had been arrested under the charge of causing damage to citizen Ashot Frangulyan on 13 January and leaving it at the scene of the incident. During today's press conference, editor of the newspaper Nikol Pashinyan expressed certainty that with this, Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan was taking revenge over Hayk for his articles against the police chief.
