Serzh Sargsyan today attended the 6th conference of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia (UMB(E)A).

In his opening remarks, Sargsyan said that his team aims to create a well-organized society which focuses on each individual. He underlined that all powers should contribute to the process and each of them would have its unique role.

"Businessmen are entrusted with the mission of uniting their resources and creating new values," said Sargsyan.
The Armenian leader stressed that the country's geographic position somehow hinders the development of entrepreneurship and diversity of business activity in the country. He stressed that foreign markets are extremely big; therefore they should be made the target of our economic growth and development. Small domestic markets usually reduce the economic efficiency.

"It is true, production is a complex chain but we must keep abreast with innovation processes. Business programs and undertakings frequently have a traditional character. We must avoid inactivity and strive to find new markets.

We need skillful people, new technology, labor force and investment. We must push the development of Armenian production and enterprises not only in the direction of local, but also international markets," he said urging businessmen to refrain from inertness and make efforts to export the Armenian production to outer markets.

"The government and businessmen must act as reliable partners. Business needs political stability and a stable economic environment: we are going to guarantee both. As regards economic stability, we will not only ensure a low inflation rate and stability of the financial system, but will also decrease the ratio between the deficit and GDP in the state budget," Serzh Sargsyan said.
