Whose partner is Russia?

On September 3, an official welcoming ceremony was held in Gyulistan Palace in honor of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
During the ceremony the two presidents made opening speeches.

During his Yerevan visit in August, Medvedev called Armenia Russia's strategic partner. Today in Baku Medvedev called Azerbaijan Russia's strategic partner.

Medvedev noted that the documents to be signed between Russia and Azerbaijan will strengthen bilateral relations. He underlined that the two countries closely cooperate in the economic sphere and said security issues are an important component of the modern world.

According to the Russian president, his country will continue assisting in the resolution of the Karabakh conflict. The Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents will give a joinmt press conference in the evening.

On August 19-21 President Dmitry Medvedev paid a state visit to Yerevan. During the visit Russia and Armenia signed five agreements among the 49-year extension of Russian military base deployment in Armenia.
