Member of Hanrapetutyun (Republic) Party Jora Safeyan will be released from the Artik penal institution tomorrow morning. Safeyan was sentenced to 2,5 years' imprisonment on charges of hooliganism incited in Talin during the campaign for the 2008 presidential election.

The election headquarters of presidential candidate Levon Ter-Petrosyan labeled the incident "provocation plotted by the National Security Service."

During the meeting with Talin residents on January 27, 2008, Ter-Petrosyan heard a voice in the crowd, "Levon, Talin does not support you." Indignant locals tried to call the provocateur [Sargis Karapetyan] to order. Later Jora Safeyan and his brother Mkrtich Sapeyan were arrested on charges of beating Karapetyan.

Mkrtich Sapeyan was sent to two years in prison.
