"I advise Armenians appearing in the territory of Turkey for this or that reason to immediately leave the country as it is obvious who we are dealing with. A threat uttered by Turkey's top official from such a high rostrum could be perceived by some forces as a signal to launch anti-Armenian activities," Head of ARF faction Vahan Hovhannisyan said during today's parliamentary briefings.
"Though Turkey has gained a reputation of a more democratic country than Armenia, Erdogan tore off the country's mask with his recent statements," announced Mr. Hovhannisyan.
The Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and the Prosperous Armenia (BHK) did not approve of Mr. Hovhannisyan's appeal addressed to Armenians of Turkey.
"All Armenian citizens settling in Turkey left Armenia neither forcibly nor following the appeals of Armenian political forces and their displacement is incompliant with international standards of human rights," said BHK Secretary Aram Safaryan.
"You needn't seed a syndrome of fear as if Turkey wants to create an atmosphere of bloodshed," said HHK faction head Galust Sahakyan.
Regarding Erdogan's statements Mr. Sahakyan said: "Instead of thanking Armenia for cleansing Turkey of blood stains, Turkey's Prime Minister makes frivolous statements. Armenia is establishing diplomatic relations with Turkey and not friendly ties."
Aram Safaryan noted that Erdogan was speaking in the language of the Ottoman Empire but he sees no menace in the Premier's statements. Turkey made similar statements in 2001-2002 after France recognized the Armenian Genocide.
"Erdogan applied the simplest method in the given situation: he simply reiterated the words of ex Prime Minister Tansu Chiller," added Mr. Safaryan.
Recall that in an interview with BBC, Turkey's Prime Minister spoke about possible deportation of 100 000 illegal Armenians from the country.
