Change of power must start now

By the call of the ARF, the powers that have united as one against the signing of the Turkey-Armenia Protocols reaffirmed the determination of their struggle and announced that they must do everything possible to stop the ratification of the Protocols, even if it means change of power. But in this stage, they must first be consistent in the fair decision of the Constitutional Court.

During today's discussion, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Armenia Aram Sargsyan called on the Constitutional Court to be guided by national interests and not personal interests when taking the decision this time.

Member of the ARF Supreme Body Armen Rustamyan stated that the current attempt is to conceal the vigilance of the society and they see that during the visits to the Marzes. Armen Rustamyan reiterated the dangers and preconditions that the Turks, particularly Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu, are talking about. He also responded to the allusions of the Armenian side according to which the ball is in Turkey's field now. "In football terms, if the ball is in their field, they are the ones in charge of the situation."

The international community is not supporting the Armenian side, knowing very well that there are preconditions stated in the Protocols. "Who needs that kind of support if we can't defend our national interests?" asked Armen Rustamyan. He took note that the Armenian side was trying to win at least in the issue concerning Karabakh with the normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations, but the Madrid Principles are not in the interests of Armenia either and the more Armenia coarsens its position, the more Azerbaijan will do the same and proof of that are the latest war-like declarations by Ilham Aliyev.

Head of the "Heritage" faction Stepan Safaryan proposed to change the system, that is, change of power, but not when the National Assembly ratifies the Protocols, as proposed by the ARF, but by starting the process now before it's too late.

Chairman of the Armenian Liberal (Ramkavar) Party Hartyun Arakelyan informed that Armenia is currently negotiating with the criminal authorities of Turkey. He also took note that Turkey is in the third stage of implementing genocide. The first stage was preparation of genocide, the second were the massacres of 1915-1923 and the third is today's embargo, which is a crime against a small country like Armenia with no seas.

Arakelyan stated that the current Armenian authorities are commerce-oriented and prefer their personal interest over the state interest. They are subjecting the entire nation to embargo so that people will not realize the dangers and adapt to the opening of the border without preconditions.
