During the September 20 sitting, the National Assembly Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Affairs, chaired by Artak Davtyan, discussed the package of amendments to the Law on Language and a number of other laws, making a positive conclusion about the inclusion of the package in the agenda of the upcoming four-day sessions.

Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said that the introduction of the package of legislative amendments was conditioned by the necessity to organize instruction and upbringing of the republic's deaf children in Armenian.

The aim is to develop the abilities of children with hearing impairments and help them to integrate into society, as well as to protect their fundamental rights, the press service of the National Assembly reported.
