Handbook for the fight against trafficking

12:20 pm | February 09, 2012 | Official

Tomorrow the OSCE Office in Yerevan will release an instructional handbook on the fight against human trafficking for law-enforcement bodies.

The capacity building of law-enforcement bodies in the fight against trafficking is one of the priorities of the 2010-2012 National Plan of Actions for the Fight against Trafficking of Armenia, and the OSCE and the International Labor Organization support the government and civil society by providing support that contributes to the improvement of the national guidance mechanism in the fight against trafficking.

The handbook designed for prosecutors, police officers, judges, border guards and labor inspectors was prepared by four national experts within the framework of the European Union-funded regional program of the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the International Labor Organization.

This handbook will ensure ongoing training in the fight against trafficking at police schools and academies with the Teacher Training Methodology published by 2011 with support from the above mentioned organizations, reports the Media and Public Relations Department of the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
