Mayor or Yerevan, Chairperson of the Urban Development Council Taron Margaryan headed the first session of the Urban Development Council of Yerevan in 2012. The only item on the agenda was the regulation of the structure and activities of the Urban Development Council.
According to the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality, the architects attending the session were engaged in an interesting debate.
The 24 members of the council approved the proposed structure of the Urban Development Council, which will provide the opportunity to take advantage of the participation of different layers of society in solving the issues related to urban development in Yerevan and to ensure balanced and transparent urban development in the capital," as mentioned in the press release provided by the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality.
