Extraordinary session for electing Yerevan Mayor cancelled (video)
At today's extraordinary session of the Yerevan City Council, the council were going to elect Yerevan Mayor. The only candidate that was nominated for this post was Zaruhi Postanjyan, leader of the Yerkir Tsirani (Country of Apricot) party. Yelk (Way out) and Republican factions did not nominate a candidate. First Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan after returning from a 30 minutes ago announced break, announced: "If there is no quorum, the session chair announces a break, and if after that there is no quorum, the session is will be cancelled." There were 5 members of the council who were present at the session: 3 members of Yerkir Tsirani faction, member of the Council of Elders Hayk Petrosyan and Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan. So, the extraordinary session of the Yerevan City Council was cancelled due to absence of quorum.
