Swimming season officially started in Lake Sevan
On July 1, the opening ceremony of the 2018 swimming season took place at the public beach of Sevan National Park. The event was attended by citizens of Armenia and abroad who were on the beach, residents of the national park, students of cultural and art schools, representatives of the Ministry of Nature Protection, community and provincial authorities. Deputy Minister of Nature Protection Gnel Sanosyan, Governor of Gegharkunik province Ishkhan Saghatelyan and Director of "Sevan" National Park Vahe Gulanyan made speeches at the opening ceremony. Congratulating the attendees on the opening of the swimming season, the speakers called on the citizens to organize their holidays at the public beaches of Lake Sevan, which are provided with all necessary services, and to adhere to the safety rules and the cleanliness of the surroundings. Deputy Minister of Nature Protection Gnel Sanosyan toured the beach, got acquainted with the health and rescue center services, talked to the people resting on the beach. Three of the 11 public beaches in the Sevan National Park, N1, N2 and N3, are furnished with all the necessary things for a beach holiday. On the public beaches of Sevan National Park, the average annual number of resting people is 250 to 300 thousand people.
