During the discussion on the election of prime minister at NA sitting, NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov said that today is a very important day for both Armenia and Artsakh, as the parliament should elect the prime minister, who is de facto the supreme commander-in-chief and the chief negotiator for the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. "We have not gone through a denialistic way, we have been ready for a dialogue, but not ultimatums. In Armenia, democratic values should not have an alternative. We have to respect pluralism and dissent, it is unacceptable for me to try to influence any MP's opinion by pressure. We are all here as chosen ones from the public and each of us will choose our prime minister according to our conscience by voting for or against," Sharmazanov said. Touching upon the candidate for the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, he underlined that today they choose not a popular tribune or a good speaker, but a leader of the executive power, which must first be seen by the predictability of political steps and a clear political ideology. According to Eduard Sharmazanov, the most important thing for politicians is the existence of ideology. "It is impossible to be a little socialist, a little conservative, a bit liberal. A politician must have a clear ideology; this is in the civilized world. I hoped to hear a pragmatic speech from the candidate of prime minister, but I witnessed a non-program speech that stirred the people's ears. We are also concerned about the problems in our country, we do not deny that there is corruption and injustice in our country, and no matter who will be tomorrow's power, we should not talk about ultimatums, but go on a dialogue. My assessments are purely political and there is no personal attitude here. Mr. Pashinyan, as yesterday, today you did not convince me, I do not see you as the supreme commander."
