Davit-Tumasyan

Davit Tumasyan, Senior Investigator of the Criminal Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, told reporters today that there is an increase in the number of crimes against children. The overwhelming majority of these are sexual crimes. The number of incidents of domestic violence also increased. He mentions at the same time that it is should not be said that cases of violence have increased as the indicators of disclosure and acceptance have also grown. David Tumasyan notes that in 2016 cases of sexual violence against children have sharply increased. "We had 157 criminal cases involving sexual crimes, of which 110 were against children, that is, 70 percent of all cases. In 2017, we had a general increase in sexual offenses, but the number of offenses committed against children has dropped from 161 to 101 that is 62.7 percent. The minimum age for children exposed to violence in 2016-17 was 5 years, and in 2015 - 4 years. The largest group is children aged 14-16." He claims that in most cases of sexual violence, girls give their agreement, but they are not sexually mature. There are some statistical changes in the number of crimes. If previously there were a large number of gravity crimes, the number has dropped dramatically, and medium-gravity crimes tend to grow. It also comes from the fact that the population is applying at an earlier stage.
