Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan: After the signing of the EU-Armenia agreement, Russia's official attitude was positive (video)
Political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan, summing up the year 2017, considered that he was deprived of all kinds of shocks compared to 2016. He stated that in 2017 the Armenian side had managed to change approaches to negotiations with Azerbaijan and had made a more stubborn diplomatic position, which had beenvoiced for the first time during the Armenia-Diaspora conference. "It was not only about preserving the corridor, but also the Armenian side said that it was ready for concessions which would not threaten the security of the second Armenian state. It showed that the Armenian side has further narrowed its policy of compromise." During today's press conference Mr. Melik-Shahnazaryan spoke about the Armenian-Russian relations. At the state level, he had noticed a positive response from Russia after the signing of the EU-Armenia Association Agreement, and the negative wave that emerged from the purely mass media, seemed to be corrected.
