Roundtable discussion on the issue of limitation of the right to a deferment in NA, Live (video)
The roundtable discussion between the university students, who are protesting against the curtailing of the right to military deferment in Armenia, and the representatives of the authorities, have gotten underway today at the National Assembly. Members of the "For Science Development Initiative", MPs and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science and Defense will take part in the discussion. To remind, students protesting against the new draft law, went on strike for seven days, five of them later went on a hunger strike, after which the negotiations in the National Assembly were followed ans on November 15, the NA passed the bill on Military Service and the Status of Military Servicemen, which considerably limits the right to military deferment in Armenia.
