Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received representatives of the students protesting against the draft law "On Status of Military Servicemen" at the Government Building. Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan and Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan also attended the meeting. "We want to hold today's meeting, taking into account that every one of you feels his duty and responsibility for the country. If there is anxiety that with these legislative amendments we may break something, it is also necessary to consider the examples of countries that are similar to us; whether the arguments brought by you work in those countries or not, whether science suffers because of them or not. We all realize that if we are not clever, we will not have a good future. In that sense, we are very well balanced, we calculate every step that can hurt it," said Karen Karapetyan at the beginning of the meeting. Then the students presented their concerns and observations. The prime minister and the defense minister have emphasized that about seven dozen government-led decisions will be envisaged, and representatives of the protesting students have been invited to be involved in the draft working group and submit their suggestions and approaches. However, the students did not accept the proposal.
