Repatriation program in Kashatagh
Prime Minister of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Zhirayr Mirzoyan and the Director of the Support Fund of Village and Agriculture of the NKR Ashot Bakhshyan organized a consultation in Berdzor on a number of issues related to the development of agriculture and the region. The responsible of agriculture department was present at the consultation and he noted that headquarters were formed to make all the work in an organized manner. The speaker also emphasized that the Kashatagh region continues to maintain the leading position in terms of gross agricultural production in the republic. 20,052 hectares have been harvested from 20,207 hectares of which the gross harvest was 55,817 tones. Harutyunyan was satisfied with the results of the presented and mentioned that there are still many things to do. "In Kashatagh region, we will soon start a program consisted of 2 points. The first is the opening of a modern storage for milk in the southern and northern parts. And the second point is that there will be provided devices for making dried fruits, especially in the northern part," the State Minister said and added that it is also planned to create modern refrigeration facilities where residents will be able to keep their crops and sell them at a more expensive price during the winter season. During the meeting, Harutyunyan also touched upon the problem of repatriation. He noted that the government intends to activate the repatriation program in the area and that hundreds of new apartments are being built in different communities of the region to promote repatriation.
