Gymnasts return empty-handed from Paris
Arthur Davtyan, Vahagn Davtyan and Harutyun Medinyan, members of the Armenian gymnastics team, performed at the World Cup in Paris. Under the leadership of Hakob Serobyan, head coach of the national team, our gymnasts passed to the final in several tools, but could not hold prize places. In the uneven bars, Arthur Davtyan took the 6th place (in the third qualifying round), in the ring 8th (8): Leader of the national team took the 9th place in the qualifying round of the pommel horse and the 11th place in bars, not being able to reach the finals. Vahagn Davtyan took the 5th place in the rings qualification round, but retreated in one place in the final. Harutyun Merdinyan, because of a mistake, was the 21st in the pommel horse qualifying round. Our athletes did not take part in free exercises and horizontal bars. Now the Armenian team holds a training session in Paris, and on September 27 moves to Montreal to participate in the World Championship ( on October 2-8).
