Ermenihaber: 35 people committed suicide
Turkey’s opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) issued a report on suicides, arrests and dismissals during the state of emergency declared in Turkey. According to the report, during this one year, when the state of emergency has been declared in the country after the attempt of coup d'etat, 35 people in the investigation committed suicide, 4 people committed attempts for suicide. What’s more, 8 of suicides and suicide attempts were committed in the prisons and while detaining the accused. After the attempt to coup d’etat 4238 prosecutors and judges were disqualified. The number of arrested security employees reaches 10 732. 24 governors and 101 deputy governors were dismissed. The report also states that during the state of emergency 159 journalists were arrested. Find more details here
