“After April War the Armenian side made serious conclusions and corrected the drawbacks, of course, it would be better if had been done before April War,” Andranik Migranyan, political expert, Professor at Moscow State Institute of International Relations states that large-scale engineering and technical activities were carried out at Artsakh-Azerbaijani border. Touching upon the role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairing countries, Andranik Migranyan noted that in all probability the Co-chairs cannot curb Azerbaijan, as they don’t have relevant resources or necessary influence on that country. “In its turn Azerbaijan has the support of Turkey, Pakistan and other Muslim countries in order to ignore the civilized international community.” Touching upon the possibility of resumption of war, Andranik Migranyan noted that it isn’t beneficial for any side. “There are numerous problems, Syrian crisis, Islamic State, Kurds; superpowers aren’t interested in large-scale military actions in the region.” The journalists asked the political expert living in Russia, whether Russian in interested in solving the Artsakh issue. Andranik Migranyan answered, “Of course, Russia has interest in the region, and it makes this conflict serve its interests.” Andranik Migranyan recalled the meeting of the first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan with Boris Yeltsin, “He [Levon Ter-Petrosyan] said ‘we expect a prize from you as thanks to our victory in Karabakh, Azerbaijan returned to the CIS, or else Azerbaijan would leave the CIS’.”
