Gevorg Safaryan subjected to violence in court
The life and health of Gevorg Safaryan, a member of the Founding Parliament movement charged with violence against a government representative, are endangered. “Safaryan is in the basement of the Court of Shengavit district where he is being subjected to violence,” lawyer Tigran Yegoryan told Judge tatevik Grigoryan, asking her to have Gevorg brought to the courtroom. The judge left the request unanswered saying the court was considering the issue of involving lawyers in the case. At the moment the lawyers demand that Jirayr Sefilyan, Gevorg Safaryan and Nerses Poghosyan be brought to the hall. They were removed from the hall during the previous session for “contempt of court.”
