Tense situation in Yerevan court: Areg Kyureghyan tried to give a piece of paper to his lawyer (video)
An incident took place in a Yerevan court on Wednesday before the start of the hearing in the so-called Sasna Dzrer case. Defendants Smbat Barseghyan, Areg Kyureghyan and Sedrak Nazaryan were forcibly removed from the courtroom by the police. The other defendants also want to leave the court but the reason is still unknown. It is not clear what is happening on the other side of the glass, but our journalist says the defendants are shouting. ...... A bit later lawyer Ara Gharagyozyan told journalists that an argument started in the courtroom after his client wanted to give him a piece of paper. An escort officer grasped the paper and tore it off. This was followed by an argument between the defendants and police officers. The lawyer added that after Areg Kyureghyan was removed from the courtroom, sounds of beating were heard from outside. The hearing has not started yet.
