Volodya Avetisyan to be released in a few days (video)
Reserve Colonel Volodya Avetisyan, who was sentenced to 6 years’ imprisonment, and his advocate have applied to the Court of Appeal for making a decision on early release. The independent committee has refused Volodya Avetisyan for 6 times without any justifications. “There has been no justification; no one has received a clarification why the independent committee refused him. The decision of that body is self-willed, there aren’t any clear standards,” advocate Araks Melkonyan said at the Court. The Attorney opposed the appeal, noting that the procedure of applying to the Court wasn’t maintained. After returning from the consultation room, Judge Karine Ghazaryan refused the appeal presented by the defense side. Military friends of Volodya Avetisyan didn’t expect any other decision. “I can understand also these judges, who are fully slavish and must follow the instructions of pasha,” freedom fighter Volodya Avetisyan told “A1+”. Irrespective of Court decision, Volodya Avetisyan will be released on May 25 as a result of amnesty applied in 2013.
