Is it your safe Armenia?: action outside Government building (video)
Citizens, who have been deprived of their houses in Kentron for already more than 13 years, have lost their hope that after remaining in his post Yerevan Mayor will be able to solve their issues. “If Taron Margaryan wanted to solve the issue, he would do it during 5 and half years of his tenure. Now he will hold the post again. We will elect him, when he solves our issue. He hasn’t solved our issue and will not solve. His father was Prime Minister, when our house were destroyed; neither his father, nor he has done anything,” said Gohar Abrahamyan. Knarik Arakelyan added, “Taron Margaryan is already elected.” Starting from 2002 former land users of Dalma gardens have been fighting for restoration of their rights. For already 6 years Emma Khachatryan, resident of the city of Kapan, cannot find her son. According to her words, he left the house with his friend and until now there has been no information about him: “Is it a safe Armenia, Human Rights Defender, where is my son? You say ‘Safe Armenia’, is it your safe Armenia? You took the money and say ‘he goes missing’”. Mrs Emma also told Ombudsman that participants of the incident aren’t in Armenia now and haven’t been held accountable for it. She added that she hasn’t been able to meet with Chief of the Police Vladimir Gasparyan. Parents of the soldiers, who died in the army during peaceful time, as well as former employees of Nairi plant were also outside the Government building. Watch the video for more details!
