Defendants along line of the case of Khorenatsi events demand acquittal
Advocates of Gagik Mikayelyan and Soso Margaryan, who were sentenced to three years’ imprisonment along line of the case into Khorenatsi events, demand from the Court of Appeal to annul the decision of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan Kentron and Nork Marash administrative districts and acquit them. Ara Gharagyozyan, advocate of Arsen Mkrtumyan, who is accused of mass disorders, asked the court to annul and change the court decision and with the use of the RA Criminal Code Article 70 not to apply the punishment conditionally. At today’s court hearing the advocates presented their appeals. Prosecutor Hayk Petrosyan objected to the appeal. The court hearing in the Court of Appeal will continue on April 21. Three defendants admitted their guilt for getting milder punishment. Though, the judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts Gagik Poghosyan sentenced them to three years’ imprisonment.
