In the country, where the lion’s share of national wealth legally or illegally belongs to a few families, and the people are destined to misery, expecting other results from the elections would be political illiteracy. We are simply to wait how the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), Prosperous Party of Armenia (BHK), Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) and Yelk (Way out) will develop Armenia’s economy with tiger’s jumps, will ensure flow of billions of dollars of investments, strengthen Armenian army, prevent growing migration and handle Karabakh conflict issue, the most important issue Armenia faces today. Irrespective of election results, I find it necessary to give these two records: First, Armenian National Congress was able to make issue of Karabakh conflict resolution an urgent issue of Armenia’s political agenda, which cannot be denied even by our opponents Second, in a very short period a social movement has been established around “Peace, reconciliation, neighborliness” slogan, which isn’t massive today, but I don’t even hesitate about its further enlargement. That is a movement of believers, which doesn’t pursue any other goal than preventing Armenia and Karabakh from pending disaster. If the political powers represented in the parliament are able to prevent that disaster through maintaining existence of Karabakh and not surrendering any inch of land, we will only be thankful to them. Applying to the members and supporters of the Armenian National Congress, I want to note that our agenda hasn’t been changed as a result of election results. We still have much to do to make the idea of peace credo for large circles of society. There is no other guarantee for existence, security and development of Armenian and Karabakh than establishment of peace, reconciliation and neighborliness with the neighboring countries. Peace now, and not after disaster and new meaningless victims. Hereafter blood of every killed soldier on the border will be on the conscience of the political powers represented in the parliament. 03.04.2017
