“The Yelk (Way Out) alliance will not prevent or throw obstacles to changes in the country. Moreover, after the upcoming parliamentary elections the opposition bloc is ready to cooperate with all forces that will fully open up during the campaign and show where they want to take people,” Sasun Mikaelyan from the Yelk alliance, who is standing as candidate in the April 2 vote in Constituency N10, said on Tuesday. “I welcome the individuals and forces who were once part of the government or have just entered the political arena, but definitely long for changes because the situation in the country is really serious. Not a single force will be able to change the regime or embark on systemic changes alone. We need to form a mighty force to make the authorities understand that their arsenal is empty, they have exhausted themselves and they need to yield power,” Sasun Mikaelyan said. When asked about Seyran Ohanyan’s visit to his headquarters in Hrazdan after a rally held by the Ohanyan-Raffi-Oskanian alliance, Mr Mikaelyan said ‘Seyran Ohanyan is my friend.’ “Should I hold a campaign rally somewhere I would definitely visit Ohanyan’s campaign office. Entering politics I cannot erase my past and I am not the person who would wish to erase his past. I have come a long way with Seyran Ohanyan and maintain good relationships with others and shall do it in the future regardless of our political views and orientations. I am not insulted. When I was in prison, my son was called up for military service and Seyran Ohanyan’s behaviour was very normal. So, it is not the political orientation that brought us closer, we became friends on the battlefield where lives are put at stake.
