Vilen Gayfejyan, the host of satirical Armenian video series SOS on YouTube, must make a public apology to three police officers. The decision was handed down by the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan’s Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative Districts. At the same time, the Court rejected the claim that Gayfejyan is to pay compensation to the police officers in the amount of one million drams. In May 2015, a video was posted on www.blog.1in.am, which was also uploaded on youtube. In the video, Vilen Gayfejyan commented on the actions of the police officers who were on duty in front of the Presidential Palace. He said that the police officers used force to drive a group of protesters, including black-clad mothers, away from the presidential compound. Gayfejyan considered the court decision illegal, saying he would not apologize to the policemen. Moreover, he is going to dispute the decision in a higher court. The police officers refused to comment.
