Members of the Yelk (Way out) alliance are aware of the principles of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) and do not support or share them, Artak Zeynalyan, a member of the alliance, told A1+ Company. “Therefore, we have not attempted to start cooperation with the HAK. Our partner –HAK, is an opposition force whereas Yelk is an ideological alliance and we have a disagreement with the HAK. For example, the HAK supports Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union while we are against it. There is also a disagreement over the Karabakh conflict. We could not form a pre-election alliance with the HAK,” he said. Earlier, Head of the HAK parliamentary faction Levon Zurabyan said they had offered other opposition forces to form an alliance ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections but three of the negotiating forces – the Civil Contract, Bright Armenia and Hanrapetutyun (Republic) were quick enough to form an alliance (Yelk), thereby torpedoing the idea.
